instant rocket!!!
just installed andrews 37g cams, v&h dresser duals with thunderheader slipons, racetuner, on a stock88, with stock heads....dynoed at 91 horses 93 torque...gained 20hp, 21torque....very pleased.
06 eg stadard. i was concerned about pinging from what philm and others experienced but there is none...my wrench is an artist with the racetuner and dyno...in fact anyone out in so.cal and you need a good wrench let me know.

Congrats! Gald it worked out for ya!
Not necessarily.
If you exceed Andrews recommended compression ratio, for that cam, espically in a Bagger.... it will then be prone to pinging. Head work, in and of itself, does not always change compression ratio. Your wrench will now how to give ya what you (and it) need. You can have head work (with or without 95" pistons) and build it for any desired compression ratio.
Keep your target CR @ 9.5:1 and you'll be fine.
Many try to squeeze more power out of them by increasing CR just a bit and that's when ya run into problems. Since that cam is "designed" for a lighter bike, you do not have as much margin for error when you use it in a heavy bike.
....again, just my experience....

Do you normally pick much up off just the cams alone? Always seemed a waste to me to do cams without doing the top end since the latter happening down the road usually requires bigger cams than one would initially install without the head work. I'd just hate to do it twice in case I added heads or jugs down the road. You know your gonna want more later....right?
