Anyone know if it makes a diff in reception if you mount the antenna on the inside of fairing or on the outside ?

Had mine on the tank and it sucked, put it on the radio under the fairing and it works much better.

I have no idea if it makes a difference or not, but I was worried about that also. I went ahead and mounted it according to the directions on top of the radio inside the fairing. I have no complaints at all.....reception is great.

Thanks everyone i had mine on the top of the front brake lever but didn't like it there so i will mount on top of radio.

I have mine mounted on the top of the radio case just using the magnetic base of the antenna. I have no problems with reception.

Bought a 3 pocket winshield pouch and mounted my xm in the center pocket, went to xmfan store and bought the smallest antenna they make, mounted it with velcro on top of the pouch, I have only lost reception one time and that was at Mount Rushmore under Washingtons nose...hahaha
