Whenever you want.. I believe the manual says 10k but I bet if u change it at 2k it'll be nasty... There have been 5 threads on fork oil in the last 2 days go check them out
I take many forks apart. I can 100% make the statement that you need to check your Bagger bushings at 10K miles. There is much better options than any HD fork oil available locally and much cheaper. I see fork bushings worn out at 10K. After the Teflon coating is worn off the bushings, the hard chrome on your forks is the next thing to go. My point is that it is cheaper to service your suspension yourself than it is to buy replacement parts from HD, and your suspension just works better. Teflon coating is clear n color and is shinny. Your bushings are not to be worn like rod bearings.
It is your bike so read, learn, and than make your decision.
I'm doing mine this weekend and a few other odd things.. I'm hoping that buy doing some maintenance the nxt few weeks that it'll keep me from buying all kinds of **** with the tax return
