Default corbin gunfighter for 14 sg, thoughts?

Considering a new saddle for my 14 sgs. If I do upgrade, looking for something that has close to the same look as the stocker, a little low profile. Thought about the sundowner, but can't stand the look of the huge pillion seat. Corbin gunfighter looks great from the web pics, but how are they as far as comfort? And is the passenger comfort better than stock? I know the corbin seats are a little more firm than most, had a corbin on my recent hayabusa and loved that seat. Basically wanting something close to the same size/profile as the stock seat but more comfortable

I have the classic solo, I can't see the gun fighter being an all day seat for your passenger.

They have a couple different passenger pilions for the classic that comes off very quickly leaving you with a solo seat.

I made a promise to Mike Corbin to share my experience with other riders:

I bought a premium priced Gunfighter, it was hard as hell- butt numbing in 40 minutes.

I called, they said "no problem" it'll break in, give it 6 months.

No positive result, I called back...they said "too late" nothing they will do for me.

Shortly afterward I noticed the vinyl covering they selected and installed was cracking- they said it's my fault for sun exposure.
I explain the only time their seat is in the sun, it is shaded by my body....

They declined to do anything about it.

I wrote Mike Corbin a letter laying this all out and didn't receive a response.

I do make good on my promise to share the experience;
a.) with their product
b.) with their after-sale care.

OP, there are other manufacturers out there and I have seen many positive posts on mean city cycles.
Grain of Salt- many posts are on the neg side ( incl. mine, but i have a promise to keep)...so when we see continual positive reviews, that carries some weight

also the 2009/10 Streetglide seat has a slimmer rear section than yours ( but a wider nose)- I use one on my FLHTC for rides under 6 hours.
I see these on the classifieds for under $100...I think I paid $60 for mine
part number 52320-09
starting for 2011 the rear section poofed up

Mike

Just my opinion owning a few Corbin seats

1) they are as soft as reinforced concrete after they "break in", they are "firm" to say the least.

2) Corbin's Quality has gone into the toilet over the last 10 years. Although I hear good things about seats that are custom made while you wait at their factory, or at Daytona, the rest of the product line is questionable.

3) There are posts all over the internet about their lack of customer service/ standing behind their product

Personally unless someone lets you try theirs for a long ride, I'd stay away from Corbin.

PS a Gunfighter is designed as a solo seat, the Gunfighter & Lady is 2 up

Have been on Crobins since 97 - now on my 4th Harley and my 4th corbin - Nov, 2015
Rode to Corbin as always,, arrived at 0800 - custom saddle built that day - Ultra limited, Dual Touring.

Best saddle I have ever had. Last corbin was on my Harley for 10 years and over 70K - still looked good... Longest ride was 8,000 in 26 days - two up, back and butt felt good every day..

They are Firm and Best when built to YOUR butt at the Hollister factory when you spend a day and have one built...

Search my screen name for 'Posts started by me' find my large picture post of my visist to Corbin in Nov.. for ME - Great customer service

Granted, I have read of other bad stories in dealing with internet buys,,, I am at a loss as to why

I would own nothing but Corbins. to me its all day comfort, i have done built at the factory but also just ordered one through the mail for my night train. All are the same to me, because at the factory i usually just take it as is, i just like watching it built as i wait. The gunfighter for my road glide i would not ride with the wife, it really is better as a solo seat. My daughter rides on it though so she can reach the floorboards. When the wife rides i have a Corbin dual tour and love it also.
