All,
Was sitting at a light this morning minding my own business, when all of the sudden, the motor revs up to 1200 rpm and stayed there. I didn't even have my hand on the throttle. Light turns green, so I grab the throttle, this it a little and it dies in me!!! I had to push it over to the side. I turn the start button off and then on, then hit the start and it fires up.
Now, possibly a fluke or is it a TBW problem? Just finished my bars 3 -4 weeks ago and have over 500 miles on it, so I hope it isn't that and a fluke. Any possible ideas If not either of my ideas? Leaving soon to go home and let ya know if I am huffing it or not.
The only problem I have had with the TBW is loss of control, never an increase in idle. Whenever I lost control it gave an error code. Check your code to see where it leads.
Jiggle the wiring between the gas tank and back of fairing (right side)while idling. Or just turn the bars back and forth all the way a few times and see what happens. That zip-tie there has been known to be too tight and can damage wiring, shorting/grounding. Mine would jump to 4k rpm. Dealers techs couldnt find it till I told em I read about it in this forum!
Edit; After they had replaced everything from the Twist grip to the Throttle body. Glad it was under warranty, they really stuck it to the ESP dept lol.
