07 road king classic electrical problems

07 road king classic electrical problems
had to jump start bike this arvo after leaving ignition on dumb , riding down road and all of a sudden lost power nothing electrical working at all
any ideas nothing seemed wrong re battery was all hooked up no signs of fuses burnt out?

Can you jump it again?
First thing I'd do is charge the battery. While it's charging check the fuses again. Check the ground to the frame. Then I would hook a volt meter to the battery and watch the voltage while I hit the starter. If the voltage drops considerably the battery is toast.

if your battery is duff then it is a huge load on the charging system, and can strain and take out the voltage regulator and/or stator.
a $100 problem becomes a $600 problem.
trying to charge a dead battery is akin to dragging an anchor behind the bike
best ( when possible) to get battery on a charger to re-charge.
at same time check cables are tight, connections clean

How old is it?
As others have said, check the cable connections and also the integrity of the wires inside the insulation by feeling and slightly bending for "soft spots".
Sounds like you may have lost a ground or the battery has just given up the ghost....
