I just talked to the mechanic last week and he told me that 107 was the biggest you could go with no machine work. He also quoted me $1300 to do the job on my 09 Road Glide. That's parts included.

That's good news for you! I'm not sure I can make West TX my local garage.

Ahhhh... So comforting the sound of wisdom. Thanks Dodger! Down from fantasy and back to the blackboard...

Well, maybe not the only way. In most cases if you go up to a 106" or a 107" you are going to be adding new higher performance cams anyway. S&S Easy Start Cams have the compression releases machined into the camshaft themselves and they work very well. Just another tool to consider when building an engine.

Went to a 103 on my 2010 Heritage 30,000 trouble fee miles ago, and still counting. Usng 10:1 Pistons with Cometic Head Gaskets gets close to a 10.5:1 Compression Ratio. Used an Andews 26 Cam which keeps the cranking compression pretty close to stock and have not added Compression Releases. No Starter Motor issues. Performance is Excellent! Also used TTS Master Tune, which I highly recommend.

I was quoted $100 to add compression releases to a build. That's parts and machining labor during a build
