Default leaving it outside?

i dont have a garage, and ive been leaving my brand new rkc outside with a cover over it. am i destroying my bike, or is it ok to be outside during spring and summer? im looking at a new house with a garage, but it would raise our cost of living considerably. anybody else park it outside?

I never leave my bike outside. I think the the moisture when it rains, dust, etc is not good for the chrome on the bike. I'd also be worried about it walking away or someone taking something off the bike. Just my honest opinion.

Pre-fabbed shed. I live in Arizona, and have a carport, but my bike has to sit out uncovered while I'm at work. Work consists of taking a train out of town and bringing another one back the next day or the day after, so my bike sometimes has to sit out in the sun for two days at a stretch. Here's a couple of pictures of what it did to my right saddlebag.

I agree with the trailer idea, buy an enclosed trailer and park in there and lock it up when not in use, but I would never ever leave mine sit outside. I am going on a 17 day ride leaving 5/18 and I hate even leaving mine outside at motels, I try to find one with parking garages if possible.

Getting the small trailer would be a good option since the trailer would be handy for lots of stuff. But I'd sure leave the roof vent open whenever you can.

UV damage and cooking out in the weather & pollutionis not as bad as it used to be due to materials improvements, but it is still bad. Just the sun damage is a very big deal IMO. In just three weeks of intense sun exposure (on Grand Canyon expeditions) I've always noticed equipmentdamage to plastics, fabrics, paint, hypalon, skin!!!.

I'd get a solid cover or shade for that sweet thing!

Wesd41....What the heck caused the bag to do that? It looks like it was defective. Have you tried to get replaced? Just curious...
