Default 1st question 09 UC

New to me 09 Ultra classic , what is the best way to get at the handle bar adjustment bolts
I've got long legs and the bars hit my knees on slow full corners . need to roll them up a bit
Thanks for any advice
Just got the bike home today so no manuals yet

go to youtube and watch the videos on removing teh ignition switch.

make the alignment tool from a piece of squarshed 1/4" copper tubing - DO NOT use a screwdriver

cover tank with a thick towel

remove switch and lower dash panel

loosen the 2 allens

shift bars and tighten down.

move lock to lock to check clearance

if ok put it all together

you can use a screwdriver bit slipped into the allen and turn with a wrench- or cut the end off a piece of a 1/4" allen key.

this is also handy for tightening the tranny end cover bolts, leaving teh header in place

the 09 had a recall on the gas tank mounts and the rear brake light switch- check that this has been done

pretty riding on hwy 3.

sorry, I should have pointed out the illustration in the manual in my pic is for a road king...

the allens on a batwing fairinged bike are harder to get to.

Not mk, but I've always used a screwdriver. It always worked fine, but maybe I was just lucky.
