Default Cirius usa engine guard lighting

Hey guys,

For my '12 SG, I wanted to get more lighting so that I can see the sides of the road at night. Currently I have truck light which is great in illuminating directly in front of me. But I live in the South with dark side roads. I was looking at the Cirius engine guard lights. I saw them installed on a bike and they're extremely bright (nearly blinding bright) but it seems like they're used mainly to let on-coming traffic know that you're in the area instead of illuminating the side of the road.

Does anyone have any direct experience with this product? I've seen this question asked numerous times but haven't seen an answer. Also, due to the brightness of these lights, I wouldn't want to blind anyone directly in front of me.

Thanks!

I may be wrong but it looks like a mini very bright flood light which will light up the sides some just in time to see the deer as it is on a collision course with you !! Again I am probably wrong.

To me it would seem to have much more value as a different light pattern, 3 points of light and all so that other motorists can see you easier.

They do appear to be a good quality product, are very small and have a slick mounting setup but to me they are too expensive by a long shot for what they seem to offer, but I do have passing lamps and all 3 forward lights are Trucklites.

I would sure love to have a set though as I am a light nut and more is better !!

But we all know your loud pipes alert all vehicles and therefore save lives.

Friend has them installed and they will blind you.He has them tilted down and still gets oncoming traffic flashing their brights at him. They do not really light up road ahead of bike, just bright, probably good for daytime use.

To each his own, but before I would use those I'd add the towel bar and spots with Phase 7 lights. Easier said than done, and not really conducive to the Street Glide look, but they work well and are aim-able. Coming from a guy on a Classic with a full set of them I feel ya if you don't want to clutter up your front though.

There are much better lightning options for your crash bar than those things. Lights with a long history of proven performance. Hella, Pia and KC make compact LED and halogen lights that Throw insane amounts of light. In both driving and flood patterns. I'm not suggesting you do what I did, and bolt two 100w Daylighters to your bar, only that you start your search with the companies that invented auxilary lightning.

Thanks guys. I love my Truck Light Phase 7. It does what it supposed to do which is light up what's in front of me w/o blinding oncoming traffic. But I'd really like something to light up my sides but as someone here mentioned, I don't want to ruin the look of my SG.

Bikerlaw, thank you for the suggestion. The guys at Cirius are really cool. I called them yesterday adn since then, I've gotten 2 texts about the product. But, I don't think its what I really want.

Looked at them earlier, but they appear to work very well to alert to others, but don't look like they throw a beam. Nice concept though, they integrate with the engine guards really nicely.
