Default Nav. maps for 2015 Ultra Limited??

I just went exploring to see if there are any updates to the maps for the navigation on my bike. (Naviextras website) I was wondering since I was talking with others who said there are times it can't find a town or road. I at times have had it say something to the effect: caution some parts of route missing.
This is what I found: the most recent map they have for HD is a 2014 Q2. That means those maps are a year and a half old and counting! It also looks like since I do not have the CVO it will cost me more than $100 for a onetime update if/when they do come out with new North American maps. Heck, Garmin gives free updates for life with their products.

Really disappointed HD went with a company that does not keep maps up to date and charges so much if/when they ever decide to offer newer maps.

Oh, also wish HD would notify owners when new software comes available for their Boom!Box Infotainment system. Just happened to see they have just come out with another update.

Yes, discussed many times and just like most automotive companies maps are way behind and expensive. I do not see it changing soon. Mike

Just follow the Rushmore forum, the Boom software update notices usually show up there pretty soon after they are released, if you'd rather not check the HD website yourself.

The boom updates are pretty regular around here, I usually just check the website every so often. As far as maps go ,so far I haven't had a problem with the GPS. I do keep a map for back up just in case,it's a lot cheaper than updates.

There have been several discussion threads on this topic.

As I recall, the most current, newest map release is dated first quarter 2014, which means when the riding season starts in the spring the maps will be two years out of date.

$150.

The map in my 2016 is 2nd quarter of 2014, as for cost, remember it is a Harley. If you buy a bolt for your hsrley at hardware store its 10 cents, if you buy it from Harley it's $5.00. Same with maps if you could buy them directly without interference from Harley they would probally be cheaper. Im sure Harley set the price so the other company has to send them a cut. Or it could be Harley made a deal with the company for a cheaper price per unit and said you can make it up with future map sales.

...and you can never guarantee what new streets/routes, etc have been added, so the value in what you are getting for your $150 just isn't there...waste of money IMO...

Try this for fun. Select a HD dealer from those on the GPS and follow the instructions. Not one that I've tried has taken me to the dealer. Sometimes they're close but they can be as much as 5 miles from the actual dealer.

I can't speak of any other areas.
