I replaced the front engine mount on my 2007 flht. I followed the genuine Harley Davidson repair manual to the "T". It runs smoothly at all rpms except 1100rpm. Until it's warm it shakes the bike. As I pass 1100 rpm or it unwinds passing 1100rpm, it shakes. At 1000rpm fine. At 1200rpm fine. WTF? I went on YouTube and followed the instructions for the glide-pro installation. I pulled the engine forward 1/8th " as described. I left all three bolts loose for 20 miles. I tighened the sides to 20 lbft and the center 10-12 lbft. I got this unit from Ronnies HD, it's urethane. It's more than $100 difference from the glide pro. Should I go tighter torque?
My RK broke the front motor mount and I replaced it but I still had increased vibration from normal. Tried different torque on the center bolt, no joy. Tried the exhaust adjust, which helped, but no joy. Checked swingarm isolators and found left side into the metal. Finally found the vibration issue.
I like the glide pro mount because to me it feels about like my old B mount does.
Also. Saddlebag shaking was getting bad until I replaced the bad isolators. Now they are like normal.
I would think that would be expected with a harder mount. Guys use hockey pucks on the 3800 Bonneville's so the don't brake. They do get more vibes. Maybe that's why true-track suggest staying with OEM.
Very common for your year bike. The replacement HD part is supposed to have better materials, but I'd suggest you get the True Track system for front at a minimum, but if you dont already have it, rear too.
Found the standard OEM mount caused less vibration than the after market ones.
Yeah, but the softer oem compound may not last as long. I found an aftermarket company that said their motor mounts were deliberately stiffer and would require some break in but would last a bit longer.
Mine did take awhile longer to seat in, but it's been 40,000 miles since I replaced it too.
