Touche', some routes are longer and some are shorter.
But if they are starting out 2394 miles apart and taking the same route in opposite directions, even in Bum F.... Egypt they'll meet in about 17 hours and 44 minutes.
17 hours and 44 minutes might not be completely accurate. It's been stated on here many times that a black bike is faster, so even moving a the given speeds, if one bike is black, would it not arrive slightly ahead of the expected time?

I don't think the MSF course is going to cover his question. I think it should be obvious why, if anybody understands gearing, and hp, and torque. This is why knowing how to drive a manual car, comes in handy for riding a motorcycle.
