I just installed a Evolution Industries 49 tooth Clutch set up in my 2012 Harley ultra limited. immediately the primary has a whine. I cut off the leading edge of the stock chain tensioner as per the directions of Evolution Industries suggestion but it still has a whine?? any ideas?? Using the fluid they suggested, Type F ATF fluid even tried briefly the harley plus fluid still had the same whine.
Id give it some time to work in. Its not so much the oil but the additional teeth on the basket that changes the chains angle on the shoe compared to stock. Mine took about 4-500 miles or so to be barely noticeable.
I’ve recently done the same thing but am finding a rattling noise is heard at idle and with the clutch out and bike in neutral. With the clutch pulled in the noise goes away. This is on my 18’ street glide with a 49t basket

May be time for a new IP bearing, that was what mine did.

HotRod, what you have there is the infamous neutral rattle. Welcome to the club!
So Harley knows it’s an issue and it is an issue..they won’t service the transmission to correct it? If tolerances aren’t correct then that’s an issue. Plain and simple.

No, what the bulletin states is that the trans is manufactured to specifications with "tolerances" or ranges of acceptable clearance between gears, and when those clearances happen to mostly be in the same "direction" as it were there can be enough accumulated slack to make a rattling noise at idle when there is no load on the drivetrain. If this is in fact your issue there is nothing to repair. That said if the noise started suddenly, especially after working on primary/installing parts, I'd be suspicious something else might be going on that is a problem.
