Is the counterbalancer taking away a noticeable amount of idle rumble?

The counterbalancer is noticable, it has more flywheel effect. It has a bit of a whine but not bad, however the motor is definitely smoother at idle than the 16-earlier. The biggest difference at low speed & idle I have noticed so far is the compensator which is WAY better, little to no clunking and the on-off-on throttle abruptness thru the driveline has been pretty much eliminated. Very impressive there for sure.

Thanks for the response. The driveline improvements will be well received, the less idle shake may not be wanted by some or the balancer whine. Although once pipe and/or performance work is done the sound would fall in line with what most prefer. The claim is 50% more airflow at the box and TB and only 10% more overall torque. The head and obvious stock exhaust must be the bottleneck. Wonder how long before exhausts are manufactured, cams etc.., who will be first? Enjoy the testing.

Just took a 17 streetglide for a test ride today. Noticed a whining sound around 3000 rpms. Was that the counterbalance? Thought it was the belt.

I think one of the main things that will delay the development of parts is going to be the new restrictions on tunning. I doubt Harley will be offering any sort of tunning device, and the aftermarket will need a little bit of time to get into that new ECU.

78/88 is my guess, untouched. Which I believe to be a touch on the high side.
