Default Horn took a dump

Cruising on the slab.....I feel something hitting my leg. I look down my horn is hanging by just one of the wires. Bracket snapped right in half.

I do have Wards fans and a after market horn cover. The cover seems about the same weight of the OEM one.

My rubber bolt adapter did that......got the Wards fan......rubber split.......now I have a Rivco air horn gonna try to adapt to it.......not going to be able to use the rubber mount, gonna try a straight bolt with the fan on the inside and then the horn....

My bracket broke in the same place and horn and housing was swinging by the wires too. I also had the wards fans, but the weight of the horn and the fans, and with all of that sticking out more thus moving more with the bikes vibrations, well, metal fatigue was just a matter of time.

I used the top portion of the broken bracket, utilizing the rubber behind it, then installed the wards fans with no horn. Moved my horn to the "firewall" between the battery compartment and the rear cylinder. There are holes already in that steel plate where you can insert 1/4" bolts to hold a horn or two...I have two Fiamm horns mounted in that area so the horns are not visible and with the high and low tone horn it sounds like a car horn. The wards fans don't vibrate at all now. Should have done this from the beginning. A harley horn bracket is around $30, frigging ridiculous.

I'd like to see a pic of your horn mounting. I have the Ward's fan and my horn mount broke and I've had a horn wire break twice. I love the fans, but at around 2500 rpms the front fan really vibrates bad. It's strange that I feel very little vibration in the rear fan. If relocating the horn will remedy the vibration to the fans, I'd like to try it.

There's a Drag Specialties bracket that seems a little beefier. Also the FIAMM horns that Joe mentioned seem a little more compact as well.

My '16 RGS did this with the stock horn at exactly 900 miles. Heard clanking and felt something hitting my leg. Looked down and SOB if the bracket hadn't broken right off. Meh - the stock one was chrome and I'm in blackout mode - so the dealer replaced it under warranty with a wrinkle black one.
