Yea, thats the one I found. Too bad it is so expensive. I guess if you were in the position to have to replace the shift shaft, it would be worth it.
Yeah, I agree. it's a lot of work talking off the primary . and, it would really suck if you put it all together and the stock one loosened up again. That's happened with my shifters, that's why I spent the money.
Well, I just ordered the shift lever. I checked mine and it is very floppy. Now I'm worried it won't last until the new one gets here. I can't tighten it down any more, afraid I will strip the bolt. Oh well, I have to tear everything apart anyway to rebuild the starter, replace the rear tire and install the Rockouts I got. Looks like I'll be busy for a few days. LOL

I'm not sure if it is the compensator, do these go out on the early bikes?
I thought the knocking was related to high compression.
TC88 compensators are similar to Evo and shovel comps. I haven't heard of any problems with those. The MoCo made a rod for it's own back when they introduced a very different design for the TC96.
