What exhaust are you running? How does it perform? What does it sound like? I am looking for something to give me all the low end grunt I can get. I don't care about high rpm horsepower, not racing anyone etc. You have one great looking Ultra!
Talked to Chris today at DTT and explained the running issue that Bryan and I experienced over the holiday weekend. He said it is overheating, nothing more. The DTT will try to make adjustments to a point, but once it reaches its limit, 20% adjustment, it cannot go any further. I am still not all that sure that even with the 20% adjustment and the excessive heat, the combination really leans out. I got the same response though on another forum, that it was just the heat.
I did make some further adjustments tonight. Backed down the advance a bit in the midrange. Still need to back it down a bit right off idle and think that will finally be it. I do like the adjustability of this unit, but hopefully I am done donloading and uploading for a while, can just ride !
this last week, while riding the Smokies i noticed my oil temp gauge ran much hotter in the higher elevations....any of yall got a answer as to why
Me and Delta were in the same woods durring the same time. We both ran hotter than usaulwith some decel popping. I had more decel popping than delta but Delta's bike quit a few time at idile. We figured it was some bad gas. Both our bikes cleared up after about 3 or 4 tanks of fuel. I ran real hot in 5/26/07 traffic in DC. One of the draw backs to having a gauge for oil temp, WOW was she hot nearly got to 300 when I said that's it and we found a place to park. The day and bikes as well cooled down nicely in the late afternoon to early evening.
How's she running now?
My bike still seems a little hotter than usual but a nice oil change this week will help.
