Cruise Control w/mind of its own!!!
I brought it back to the dealer and they found that my CC cable was in too much of a bind. It happened when I had some LEDs installed at a rally. They had tied my cable up out of the way and it had created the problem. It worked great all the way home (about 100 miles).
Today I have a new CC problem. I was going down the road at about 70 when I set the CC. Worked good for about 1/2 mile and then the speed began to climb. I tapped the brake and it disengaged. Ten seconds later it re-engages by itself. Really freaked me out!! I tap on the brake and it disengages but does the same thing again. The next time I do it, when I tap the brake, the CC light goes from green to red but the CC remains engaged. The only thing I could do was flip the CC switch to off. Then I had control of the bike.
I am not using the cruise until I can get to the dealer again next week sometime.
Anybody have anything like this happen to them. DAMN GREMLINS!!!! [sm=badbadbad.gif][sm=badbadbad.gif]
Most because people have taken off the control modules or whatnot. Some haven't and have experienced the same issues.
Recent post here about radios switching 'bands' randomly etc.
I'll bet you have pinched wires. Seen this regarding Cruise and radio/cb functionality from the hand controls.
The first occurance seems to be where it was 'accellerating'. Then re-engaging on it's own. I'll bet there is a short in the wire somewhere since the 'set' and accelleration is all of the same toggle button.
