i have 1/2" Drag specialities crash bars & had the bike down twice w/zero damage, not even a scratch on da bars...plus I think those are ugly as f! Each his own...)
That is exactly the info I was looking for! Thanks
It was a great day for a ride in Michigan. Many ask me why I have a Road King if I have a fairing. The truth is I love change. I love the blacked out, standard road king look. But I also love to be different and change things up. Today the bike looks like this. Next year, or even later in summer it may be back to standard RKS. To me, that's the allure of the RKS. It can do both.

I've been doing a bunch of research on these bars, check you swing arms and your brake line on the right side. Seems like there is a design flaw with many of these where the lower mount is not shaped proper and allows the crash bar to hit the lower swing arm and damage the break line, all depending on the suspension travel. Many had to loosen the break line and move it inward, then add a 1/4" or 1/2" washer to move the mounting bar point away to help clear the swing arm top. This is not just for no name Amazon/eBay bars, it covers some of he more expensive brand names.
After I saw that, I found a 35% promo code for the clamp on protectors from the "motorcycledropguards" YT guy, so it came out to $340 shipped vs $420, covers front, rear and primary case.
I have that issue with the Santoro fabworx ones on my 18RKS. Its tagged the swing arm a few times if the suspension bottoms out. The brake line is close but clears. I also have 13in shocks in the rear vs the stock 12in. They came out with a new version that has a redesigned lower mount that clears better.

WOW!! There is so much going on there! Absolutely amazing. Is that a wrap or custom paint???
So I retired this week after 35 years! I am going to start planning a 2026 ride to Sturgis. I will not camp. I plan on booking a room in walking distance to main street very early and only staying a day or two max. I have read that the riding around the area that week is kind of a bust. That being said, for those who have been, suggestions on day of stuff in the main street area? I plan on finding a hotel with off street parking but am wondering specifically about riding in, riding out and the "must see" stuff in the downtown area.
