I pulled the rocker box off the rear cylinder of my 04 ultra to fix a oil leak. Following some advice I received on here I used some 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper on a piece of glass to knock down any high spots. After quite a while of working at it I have worn through the chrome on two opposite corners, the front right and rear left. It is warped, it does not sit flat on the glass regardless of how I set it.
My question is; would there be a problem with working it until I have leveled it or should I just get a different one? I have done some quick googling and mostly found them on eBay which makes me nervous that I would end up with something no better than what I have. I did find some new, but they are not factory an I wonder how well they would match the front.
