Default RE: HELP, replacing handlebars

I just took mine apart 2 weeks ago and is very easy. There are 2 screws under the handle bar lock trim ring (the trim ring just snaps on). Then you need to remove the headlight trim ring. Then it's the ring that hold the headlight in place (3 screws). From there you will remove the headlight bucket that is held in place by approximately 10 or so screws. This will leave you access to remove the front trim piece that is held in place by 1 nut. After removing that nut you will be able to rotate that piece up (lifting from the front)and the back should fall out of a tongue and groove shape at the wind deflector. The last step is to loosen the screw that holds the wind deflector down. I hope this helps but probably not the best directions.

Check the DIY section. Complete instructions for a RKC are there. Yours shouln't be much different.

Hey Rico, not to keep harping on about the manual but it has very precise photos, and directionsto help you understand what everyone is talking about.

Good luck!

I put harley beach bars and the seat refitted by a seat shop and the bike is great now. The stock bars were cramped on the seat made my legs numb.
