mine wasn't as bad as yours but they were definitely not good either. I just polished mine and they looked great but i also added lower fork covers along with axle bolt cover. They noq look even better than original. I went and bought the little kit that restores headlights that you can use on a drill and bought some mothers aluminum Polish to do the job. It wasn't hard to do but i did remove my wheel and fender just to be safe. Not sure if you would need to but anyways a good Polish job would make the forks look new again
