Thanks guys
I did just order the wards t-stat for the oil cooler
I have a HD oil temp gauge in the dip stick
usually running 245 to 270 when I get done riding
prob gonna move to a new oil temp gauge in the dash replacing the worthless airtemp gauge, thats for a winter project.
Im still leaning towards this uncoated SS Ho Pipe
Appreciate all the feed back, May be calling Jet Hot.
And yes the Lowers may have to start coming off in the summer time as well
Well I cant wait till the new wards t-stat gets here.
Checked the Oil Cooler lines with an IR gun this morning after our Breakfast ride.
One hose was 75 degree, the other was 110.
Im thinking oil is not flowing thru the cooler

If the thermostat...if so equipped...isn't opening, then yeah...no oil...and if the thermostat isn't getting hot enough to open, then it won't open. If the engine oil isn't getting hot enough for the thermostat to open, then your observations fall into the 'normal' category. I think you're probably good.

Well my oil temp on the dipstick read 200 when we got back and I checked the lines
I thought the t-stat opened @180. I need to check that.
Plus its warmed into the mid 70 now maybe ill go for another ride and see if I can get it a little warmer and try the readings again

Don't get too excited and angsted about it all...running an engine too cold is just as destructive as it being too hot...maybe more so... I think you'll find that the thermostat opens at well over 180 degrees, although I couldn't tell you what the correct temp is. You want your engine to be running somewhere in the 220 degree range for best performance, yada yada...that would have made our old school heads collectively spin, but the age of EPA regulated emissions emissions changed all that.
Don't micromanage your engine! It'll drive you nuts!
