PS. I have one in my shop right now that failed the exact same place on a 2012 that my friend had built up at the local Harley dealer. Started clacking and banging. Those were screamin eagle lifters that they used. However the appearance of the lifter bore is exactly the same. I bought it from him for parts .

I called local Harley dealer today and was told new cases with my vin on them would be $930 plus tax and a month and a half turn around time.

Probably good value right there, but I'd still check out sleeving what you have first.

Nothing wrong with 110. If I was strapped for cash, I'd tear it apart (leave the Pistons in the bores so ya don't mess with the rings), get the case sleeved along with chev lifters, cams, bearings, and find a good Indy to check everything out and put all back together if ya don't feel comfortable doing it yourself. Talk to Indy before starting this because many hate putting back together "parts in a box...Good luck,

Any guesses on what it would cost to get the lifter bore sleeved? Going to call around Monday but would like a baseline to compare to.

Damn... I think for that money, I'd skip sleeving and order the new block, but that's me.

I see that Hoban Brothers in Wisconsin will resleeve your case and can also use oversize lifters (if boring isn't too big). They are at HobanBrothers*com replace * with a . LOL

Thanks, I will give them a call. It has also been suggested I call these 2 places.
www.wefixharleys.com Advance Cycle Machining

www.darkhorsecrankworks.com

The only real problem with Hoban or Darkhorse is the distance from me. Google maps says 5 plus hours. Advance is only about an hour away. Still have to call all 3 and see what they say.

I am nobody....but I have have always read good things about Darkhorse. Did you read the part about oem lifter bores being out of spec....that may or may not have anything to do with your problem.
