2008 ultra classic. I had flexible rubber antennas with stiff springs at the base. thinking that they would be ok, I folded them over my tour pak and installed my cover. after this last month I removed it to find they had both cracked and broken. does anyone know of some that fold or wont break but still work ok?
Don't know of any folding antennas but I took mine off put on cover marked where antenna mounts were with a sharpie about an inch or so long then used wife's sewing machine to sew what I guess you'd call the button hole outline. Cut slit on sharpie mark and now cover has antenna holes. Any alteration shop would also do the sewing if you don't have a wife or sewing machine. If you do have a sewing machine and no wife then you're a better man than I or at least a different kind of man. Way cheaper than bowing to MoCo for their premium (priced) cover.
Researched the grommet option and I want to say it'll take a 3/4" ID to go over the antenna base. Most kits only go to 1/2" ID. Larger 3/4" grommets can be sourced but the cost for the larger tool rises exponentially over the 1/2" version.

Maybe I should have been clearer. I was not thinking of the brass ones, I'd be afraid of them scratching paint. I was thinking of the rubber ones used to route wire through sheetmetal. I'd tuck the fabric into the groove and carefully glue it in place.
