Default SE Intake and Filter

I recently purchased a 09 Electra Glide and it came with a SE intake and filter. A buddy of mine said that the filter is cleanable but it doesn't look like a KN filter, the filter material is white and looks stiff. What is the proper way to clean it?

Pretty much what I do. Good ol' fashioned Dawn dish soap and a good rinse.

Soap and water sound good to me, I was afraid it would need some kind of special cleaner that HD sold.

If it's white paper, not reusable but if it's white cloth it is. K&N Filters are a reddish color. Yeah, soak in hot water using dish soap & rinse from the inside out... repeat as needed.

Don’t know which AC you have, but some are washable.
(you should probably refer to dawg’s post)

On those that are washable it is going to depend on the condition of the element whether to replace or not.

I know that the HD SE Ventilator and Ventilator Elite filters are washable, per HD.
I use a diluted solution of either Dawn or Simple Green.

Beware! The filter says do not oil so some mechanics think that means they are one time use and automatically replace them. They need to go back school, or at least learn to RTFM!
.

Thanks for all the input, I followed dawg’s instructions and used simple green.
