Default RE: Oil Pressure???????????????????

Just talked to the dealer, and much to my surprise it was all finished and in the clean up shop. I was so surprised to hear that it was finished, I cant remember the name of the part, but it is down at the oil pump, something that apprently gets "clogged" on occasions. They cleaned it out, and now I have 5-10# PSI at idle and 30#plus AT 3000 RPM. Shewwww thats a relief. When I pick it up, I will ask again.....however I bet someone on here knows which part it is??!!!

Ok Guys, it was the oil pressure relief valve that they had to clean out. Good pressure now.

Your idle could be set to low.You will never have much idle pressure, these motors are all roller or ball bearings and it is difficult to make pressure.

10 pounds for every 1000 rpm is good.

I am glad the issue's are getting fixed BUT... If pumps are the cause, oil bypass plunger stuck ETC and the engine is really having low oil pressure what are they doing about the wear on the engine?? This is a sore subject with me as i did my time in the HD dealership and have had to put to many engines back together with worn parts , etc as you get told fix the issue and nothing more. SORRY for the rant but if a engine is starved due to oil then it needs to be inspected. Not just well we got it fixed here you go sorry that there was a extra 40,000 miles of wear induced to lack of lubrication.
