Mine comes on consistantly at needing 3.8 to 4 gallons to fill it up.
I've also heard of the tanks holding around 5.3.

Mine pops on at about 150-155ish. It shows just around a quarter tank in the guage. But that last quarter goes by in the blink of an eye. So when it comes on, I am usually already lookng for the next fillemup.

Yesterday on the way home from work my light came on when the needle went past the halfway mark. That's the first time that has happened. I went another 20 miles before the next gas stop and the needle was still showing 1/4 tank. I forget what the mileage was showing. It was around the 140 mark if I remember correctly and I was able to put 3.3 gallons in the tank....

Before I read this post yesterday my light and gauge seemed pretty accurate.
