Handle bars????
Hi guys,
This question has probably been asked before, but here goes.
my ride is a 2012 RK classic i'm 5'11.
Now the stock bars are crap, about 2 inches to low, would heritage bars ( not heritage style bars ) or RK reach bars do the job i'm looking for. and if fitting any of these bars do I need to change any of the cables?
thanks

Last spring I put a set of 10" Khromewerks Bobber ( 300210 ) bars on my King until I get around to putting the 14" 1 1/4 " apes on I want ( money pending ) . You can get away with 10" without having to change anything else . The reason I picked the bobber style was because they are designed to put your wrists straight with your forearms ( very close too ) . My hands would go numb and wrists would get sore and since the change all is good . Not trying to sell these , they just helped me a lot with the pain I was having and made my rides a lot more enjoyable .
My friend has a set of used Heritage bars he got off ebay . Went on easily enough and didn't have to change anything . He likes them a lot .
Here's a pic of the Bobber bars I put on last season .

Does someone have pictures of a 2017 Road King Classic with this 300210 handlebar ? The OEM handlebar is higher as the old ones, with a lot of pullback that I don't want.
Thanks !

Hi folks, thank you all for the help regarding choice of a good handlebar.
I followed what I have read here and I bought a Chrome Werks 300210. That's almost exactly what I needed. Same height, same width, OEM cables and "Fist front". Why "almost" ? I wish it was a little bit higher, but I didn't want to change the cables :-)
Here are the pictures, before and after :
The good positioning of the handlebar on the Road King is a mess, it took me 40 minutes to change the position. My advice is : Put the handlebar in line with the fork at the beginning, that's a good first position.

According to my RGS service manual, the angle of the bars is "supposed" to be 17degrees from parallel to the forks (towards the rider). Does anyone follow that for aftermarket bars? I'm just curious. I would suspect most just put them where ever they feel most comfortable to them. I have my 14" KST Renegades basically colinear with my forks.
