Default What should I expect from Ohlins ?

Currently riding 2016 SGS (30,500 miles) and looking to upgrade suspension. Looking for 13 inch and nothing 12. Just recently put Harley reach seat and now i'm in need to upgrade my rear and front suspension. 2 yrs back I had Indian Chieftain and ride on that was like a plush Cadilac. As much as I loved suspension on Chieftain, I hated everything about that bike. And as much I love everything about my Street Glide I hate it's suspension. Needless to say I would like to have Chieftain kind of suspension on my Street Glide. Would like to switch rear first with 13 inch and then go with 1 inch lower in front or just standard if lowering in the front will give me harsh ride.

Will it be possible to get that kind of plush riding from Ohlins ? Your inputs are appreciated.

Thank you

Just do it, you will not regret it no matter what series you get. Get the best you can afford.

OP, Why 2 posts at the same time? Just a thought and do what you want. Keep it tight so everyone can post their information..

You might get a plush ride from the #6s, but you won't get it from the 2-2 series. If your looking at 13" I would look at the street series Pro- Actions.

I’ve owned the #3-#3 and #6 from Motorcylemetals. Both are great choices and will give you a superior ride to anything else on the market.

I've owned the #3-#3 for years and thousands of miles and have to say they are one of the best investments to date. I enjoy tweaking and adjusting on the setup. First of all don't go into this thinking your Harley with a new pair of Ohlins is going to ride like a $80,000 car but there will be a very noticeable difference. Learn how to set your sag, adjust on your rebound and never think one setting fits all. The best ride is not plug and play. Have fun with it and don't make it a chore. There is much to learn from FastHarley and customer service for life if purchased through him. Be patient and the Ohlins will be your best friend.
