So I am pondering the purchase of a 2008 RG, the only problem I would have with the bike is the stock bars, I would like to put meat hooks on it. but what size can I put on without changing the clutch cable, the front brake line and messing with all the wires in the bars?

The question you should ask is what's the best setup to be most comfortable. Why would you ride a bike if you're not the most comfortable you could be?

You are correct, I have 12" Yaffe's on my 02 EG and I am very comfortable. What would be a similar set up for comfortability on a RG?

People have done 10's on the stock cable...seems bunk. I've done 10's on my last two batwings but used a +4 clutch each time, tried the stock on once and didn't like the sacrifices I had to make. Brake lines are just barely there.

So no true answer to my question? What would be a compatible setup on a 2008 RG if my 02 EG has 12" bars on it.

So if I run the 12" bars do I neec the change the clutch cable, if so what length cable do I need, what about the front brake line does it need to be longer?

I think if u use the same 12s u had on ur EG it wud feel the same since the only difference is the fairing, which is forward of the bars. Ergo, evrything behind shud theoretically not change.

As far as not changing cables, Ive heard of dudes keeping the stock cables up to 12s with some minor re-routing. But then others have tried and had to get longer cables.

Might depend on which bars are used and angle of the bars. If you do need longer cables, just go up one size from stock. And if you need to change clutch cable you would have to change front brake as well.

Sorry I cant give more definite answers. Im sure someone on here has done what you are looking for.
