Heres what I have and what i want to do.
02-Ultra 88' with 203cams and the SE Air filter stockexhaust pipesand currently running a PC111 dynoed at 69hp/76ft pound torq. The bike also has 40,000 miles on it.
I recently picked up the 95 kit from the dealer for a great price ( I think ).
So, after reading loads of info from Dyno Jet and this board I am at a cross roads as to when I get the bike re-assembled in the new 95' configuration. The confussion is what map will I use to run the bike?
I see on the Dynojet site they have a map for an 02 SE Roadking with my build but the exhaust pipes being the main difference.
Does anyone have any wisdom to pass on to me ?
I know this is a simple off on again assembly but I am stumped by this bit of fuel infected voodoo.
Thanks much in advance.
Rob
I know there are better choices for builds , but I was just looking for a bit more dissplacment on my bike.
Use the map that closest resembles your configuration until the new top-end is broken in. Then go to a Dynojet tuning center with a good reputation and they will fine-tune your map for hp and torque. Have fun!
Not sure where you bought your PC-3 but if you go to www.fuelmotousa.com and then give Jamie a call I'm sure he can help you out. I bought mine from him and then added Andrews 26G cams to my bike and called him and he emailed me a new map which I downloaded and the bike has been running great. Jamie is a PC-3 Guru, give him a call.
Do the 95 kit ASAP, it will be like you just bought a brand new bike. Good Luck and Ride Safe!!!!!!!!!!!
Go with the map that you say matches your build. Use the map a starting point. The exhaust probably won't make that much of a difference in the overall map and if it does just adjust the areas of RPM/TP accordingly. Making changes to a power commander map is actually quite simple. If you understand how to jet a carburetor think of the power commander as an electronic carburetor. You can adjust smaller or larger segments with the power commander than with jets so you have much more control. I can change to map on my bike in under 5 minutes.
Thanks All, was hoping for a sure fix, but these are the suggestions I was fishing for...meaning I had thought this myself and if there where different answers I was on the wrong track.
Thanks all to all those who read and a big Thank You for those that posted the replies .
Goes to show you Great minds Think Alike !!!
Cheers,
Rob
