Super Seer makes quality helmets but are a little pricey for what you get, I have a seer carbon fiber and its pretty nice. I would guess about 90% of super seers business is law enforcement and even the civilian models still look like cop helmets, my guess is thats why you dont see a lot of them in the civilian market.
All true, but if your going to ride a 30K machine, why go cheap on your gear?

I was referring more to the cop look over the price, a carbon fiber seer half shell with the good liner (not the pads) is gonna hit you for around $500, not sure its a bang for the buck. I never go cheap on my stuff, I spend money like it has an expiration date on it so I have no problem paying for quality stuff, I do like my seer but not sure I would pay 500 for another one.
Helmet laws Suck! If I had a choice, I'd ride without one. When I lived in a state that didn't overreach, I only wore one (full) on long trips. I figure if you are going to wear a helmet, wear a real helmet. For local trips and day trips, I never had bothered. I have been in one accident, and I was a passenger on another bike. A lady ran a redlight, and there was no way to avoid it. My driver broke his shoulder bone and had no head injury. Fortunately, my head wasn't involved in my injuries. And I don't see how a helmet could have helped in my case. I had some real nasty bodily "road rash" though...once the ER pulls the asphalt gravel out of your wounds, you can begin the road to healing...The bandages only stuck to my abrasions for about 2 weeks when I had to change them. Then they scabbed over, and the pain relented..."There are still only two kinds of bikers. The one who already crashed already, and the ones who are going to crash." Ride safe...and may God ride with you.

WCL brand. DOT embossed. Not a sticker. Front view. Sticker added by me. Bottom view. Notice the elongated shape for my spear shaped nugget. Side view. Notice the ratchet strap. No D-ring.
"Helmet laws suck": One of the many many many many reasons I live in Texas. I wasn't born here, but I got here as quickly as I could
Understood, made up my mind to leave California when they passed the helmet law. Moved up to the very free State of Idaho and never looked back.........(except in the winter)

Ive never understood the rationale of wearing a helmet on a long trip but not on day trips or around town. Is the asphalt and ground softer on local and day trips? And honestly Im not trying to be a smart a$$ I just dont understand that way of thinking. My state does not have a helmet law but I always wear one even when its 105 degrees with 115 heat index. To each their own though, Im not a helmet preacher trying to convince anyone to wear one, your melon your choice
