You guys with trailers crack me up..if you need to carry that much stuff, drive the truck..
You go ahead an' do it. Me, ah travel with a wife that wants to have "options" - and we will also run the gamut of weather - our last trip, we ran from 40 to 95 degrees - so with a trailer, I can tote everything from leather to mesh with armour. Also makes it nice ta pull in an' have a 10-cup coffee percolator along...
Same here. Not to mention that we CAMP. I pack a 4 man tent, canopy, camp kitchen (including a stove and a grill), chairs, table, air mattress, bedding, ...etc. and we have a blast doing it!
HicthDoc makes some of the best trailer hitches and also sells isolator kits. With the newer electronics, you need a Isolator to save the hasslefrom the extra load on your system. You won't notice a problem until you unhook the trailer and then your lights go haywire until you reset them. The Isolator saves that hassle.

You know it is kinda funny, you have these "buddies" that bust on you all the time for riding the "Geezer Glide" and rag about all the Bags and Extra weight on the bike.
But come road trip time, "hey bud got room for my _____ in one of your bags?" "I can't get the ____straped on,can you fit it on your bike?"
Same thing with tuggin a trailer........... They bust and bust about the trailer, then want you to haul thier _______ in it.
Hey, its been raining for so long, I almost forgot. There also good for carrying your golf clubs to the range. Have a nice ride in your truck buddy.......
The answer to every possible question you could have is in the "Motorcycle Trailer Towing" forum here: http://forums.delphiforums.com
You'll have to register but it's free. From this site I built my own trailer, wired it to the bike and researched hitches. The hitch I bought is from www.mchitch.com
It's a receiver type (you remove the ball part when you're not using it) and it's considerably less expensive than the Bushtech hitch of the same type.
If you tour or camp you'll love not having all your sh*t piled on top of your bike.
