Everything installed, put the harley antenna bracket on the rear and the antenna base assy came in today, but big problem, what is the type connector they use to mate the RG58 to the antenna base assy, I have assumed it would be a PL259 required connector, standard or a BNC on RG 58. This base has some type female motorola connector which has a screw on barrel. Anyone have a clue where I find on of these? Here is the pic, the harley part for the base assy is 76335-87.

Chan,

I don't know a number or description of that connector but I do know what HD uses it for. That is the connector they use on on theTour-Pak mount AM/FM antenna on the ElectraGlide. My Tour-Pak mount CB antenna has a loading coil mounted in the Tour-Pak and a single wire jumper with a ring connector to the antenna base.

I can't find your base P/N 76335-87 anywhere. What is the description of that base?

it fits the chrome mounting hardware they sold me, the hole in 1/2 inch but flat on two sides, this base hardware mounts through the holes, clamping nuts on both sides. The top is a screw which is the correct thread size for the antenna the sold me, it is CB, has a loading coil and spring. The bottom side has the motorola plug that to me looks very much like the am/fm type. they also sold me the loading coil but said it was only if I mounted the touring pak. I'm about ready to can the whole harley mess and mount a bracket with a standard cb stud, accepts a pl259 on the bottom. I should have taken a picture of the mounting bracket, it is mounted to the bike now, I will run out and snap one it on the bike and enclose that.

When I bought the Tour-Pak mount CD antenna kit, it included the loading coil and feed line. I don't know what you have.

Now if I could just get the audio to come through the mic when the PTT is pressed. when I run the diag. with the radio, it says the PTT is working fine. Wonder if I have to have the radio flashed by Harley for intercom, even though I don't plan to use intercom, to make the CB work???????

Have you tried it with the headset yet? I ended up purchasing a headset from Sierra Electronics and it works great. The biggest issue I had was buttoning up the wiring, and getting the fairing back on. It was pretty tight in there. Like you Chan, I ended up with two units, both of which worked and tested OK for me. I'll most likely use eBay a little later, or maybe just hang onto the extra unit as a backup unless someone here wants one.

The book says I just have to add the CB function to the radio in the '07 RG. Yeah, it is $$ at $299 list but what the heack, it's only money
SOme folks here are confusing your bike with the older models. You will have to add the CB module. It plugs into the harness and sits on top of the radio. Not sure where the antenna gets mounted, but the whole thing should be a relative piece of cake.

Thanks Panhead and others. I got a unit off eBay so I'm set for this winter. It's getting cooler here now and it won't be long before they start salting the roads and my RG will be up on the stand and in hibernation for work

Well I can't get the mic audio output......Will check wiring again, got to be my screw up someplace. PTT works, receives fine, fairing switch does it thing, maybe I'm using the wrong headset/'mic combination. tried hand mic, tried one I bought on e-bay, next will be a J&M model. I mounted a J&M 2003 CB on my wifes fatboy, works great, nice unit, she's online, I just a listener...LOL. I never had the radio flashed by Harley for intercom, but when I press intercom it goes in to setup and allows me to adjust vox levels, so not sure if the radio was flashed by someone at the dealer. Sure hope those e-bay cb modules will transmit.
