I did a search last winter and found lots of threads. on one(cant recall)sa this2 pc mc rain suit for $50 bucks .many choices on color and theme.heat gards for pipes and some reflectors, folds up small.cant go wrong unless it starts raining in the middle of your ride
I use the HD GoreTex bottoms. Things are lightweight, breath and water tight! They even have a panel to prevent them from melting on the pipes, for the top i use, either a waterproof liner in my jacket, or an HD camo rain jacket on top, depends on what I'm packin' or expecting
Wife uses Packable HD Rainsuit. Worked so good, she used it on a river run in Sacramento. Kept her really, really dry on the torso, so gotta believe it works well.
Gore-Tex is available from lots of makers, the H-D PacLite is the best of all IMO.
Gore-Tex Paclite is the lightest & most breathable product ever made by W L Gore. Instead of the traditional three-layer design, Paclite is two layers. This makes it thinner, lighter, more breathable & more easily packed.
Extremely well made, worth every penny. I rode four hours in torrential rain last week, & not a drop of rain got through.
i've used Frog Toggs many times over many miles with no problems. they keep you dry and they breathe. Only issues i had were their colors suck. You kinda look like a big marshmallow! that, and the wife and I both ripped the seams out on our ***. With such a petite rear as mine, it certainly couldn't be cause by my aging, sagging cheeks!!
They are great, roll up small, and most importantly are cheap.
But since i was starting to run cars off the road with all of the girls looking at my *** hanging out of them, got a set of 2 piece HDs for around $120. When you have a body like mine which has developed to an art form over the last 57 years, thought i keep it hidden so that it doesn't appear on the internet some day!
I've been looking for some rain gear as well. Seems the lower priced HD stuff is pure PVC with no inner liner. It would seem to cause you to sweat like a pig (maybe even a HOG). Also would seem that they are pretty high priced for PVC (up to about $120-$130). The better quality HD ones seem very heavy (and expensive) and wouldn't appear to travel well. Space is at a premium for me.
