Received my Tmax today and was looking thru the base maps and can't find one that matches my build. I'm not looking for an exact match but something close but still not sure which one to use. I know someone here using the Tmax has to have a very similar build so curious which base map you are using. Here are my bikes stats:
2006 Ultra
25 degree injectors
95"
SE flat top pistons
D&D Fat Cats
stock 06 heads
Andrews 26g cams
I found a couple close matches with 05 heads and a couple close matches with the 96" motor. Anyone with a similar build to mine, which number base map are you using?
Joe ~ Holler @ Kdietz. His build is very similar to yours. I believe the main difference is that his had headwork. It is an 06, w/26's, bigbore, & FatCat.
Thanks guy's. Hopefully they will see this post.None of the maps use the andrews cams. I have found 05 maps that are similar but I know the heads are different then mine. I have found maps for the 07s that are closer to my build then maps for the 06s. Most of the ones for the 06s that are just like mine are using the Rhineharts true duals. Decisions decisions. Can't wait to get this thing up and running.
If you don't have any luck call Zippers customer service. They will help you with the map. Read on here somewhere that others have had to do that. Good Luck!
Map 280 looks like one of the best for you where it was setup with 95" stock heads, 25 degree injectors, hi flow, 557 cams and duals. The most important criteria for a base map to learn from is engine size, injector match, and heads. The exhaust and cams can be off a little bit and the module will learn whats needed to dial it in. It might be wise to run this map then read the AFR tables where you can tweak it when and where required.
I ran a base map that was off on a few items and the module has dialed the thing right in since then. There aren't many 107" maps to work from so I picked a 110" map that had the same pistons and injectors and it didn't take long to get it flowing well. It's an awesome tool for any bike. Have fun and be sure to read the manual a couple times before installing the ECM.
Glide,
Great suggestion... both units will have an easier time adjusting from a rich condition then a lean. So going bigger and letting it take it away would be better. Plus you can say when I connected it I was getting 32 mpg and now i get 42 WOW what a system.... sarcasm off ,,,, lol sorry had to do it...
Thanks guy's. Map 397 is for a 96" motor but pretty much my build from there on. That one seems to be the ticket to get started. Beautiful day here in Indiana so hopefully up and running later this morning. Waiting to get my bike back from the shop as the issue I had with the voltage regulator a few weeks ago came back. Battery wasn't recharging thus causing very delayed/long starts. Just didn't seem to have enough juice to fire the bike up. Starter began to do the clicking thing again. They were still trying to determine the cause yesterday when I stopped there.
