Throttle return Cable into Throttle Housing issues!
I am replacing my cables with extended ones to fit my apes. I can't push the throttle cable into the housing. Do you guys have any tips?
The idle cable goes in easy. I'm using Motion Pros stainless cables from HCC. At first when I installed the cable at the intake first I noticed the cable didn't go all the way into the slot and I thought that was because of the spring, now that i am at the bars it seems big there. I pulled my calipers out and id say they are measured about .50 thousands bigger then the hole on the housing. Though it was hard measuring the housing or it might be some flashing that i wasn't getting a correct reading. It would be weird if they had another cable that .50 bigger and it being Harley how a lot of stuff all work together I imagine its not that. Am I just over thinking it and just need to keep at it? Anyone ran into this issue? Or should i just wait and see what HCC says?
don't try push it strait in rotate wile pushing up. works for me
I remeasured the housing again and I was still .020 off which wasn't as bad as my first measurement. I tried everything and decided to grab a drill bit that was slightly bigger, went in just fine. I think maybe that it was a flaw in the housing during production Anyways everything's good and now just assembling my bike!!
