If you want a digital volt meter just to confirm, you can buy very cheap ones that plug into your cigarette lighter. Probably less than $10 and 5 seconds of time.

Sure. I would charge battery first. Just start bike with stator not plugged into volt regs. Rev it up should get 80-100 volts AC. Around 20 per 1k rpm. I take it to 4-5k RPM

I would suggest that the location may not be the best as the line may have other loads on it which would lower the voltage. A better location to use is the battery tender plug.

These are handy.. The Battery tender is only accurate to +- 0.1 volt tho..

I may be misunderstanding you rounders. Are you talking a digital voltmeter for the bike to replace the factory meter?

why does it matter where you measure?

Cig lighter might be able to see while riding.

I did install pigtails not for tender but to check battery voltage without taking seat off
