ABS is everything and if you say any different you will be insulted to death so don't even dare.
I think i will survive without it but i don't know about the rest of you.

When I replace my 06 Ultra in a few years, I'll definately get the ABS. Ihad a 1992 FJ1200 Yamaha that had ABS brakes. They were remarkable things to have. I forced myselfto "lock em up" on wet leave laden pavement one timejust as a test. The bike came to astraight andquicker stop than I couldhave possible done without the ABS help.

I really can't imagine a single reason not to have ABS on a 2008 Touring bike. Just doesn't make sense to me.

I would definitely get it.

I attended an Experienced Riders Course this Saturday in the rain, and there was somebody with a Suzuki Vstrom w/ABS and during our emergency stop exercise, the instructors could not believe how the bike's wheels would not lock or skid and had excellent braking distant.

Hey, no more gradual pressing of the front brakes. Just my 2 cents

I think the biggest improvement in the last couple of years for H-D is in the brakes. The Brembo brakes are outstanding and work great. That and the ABS tipped me into getting the new bike this year. I've used the ABS a couple of times so far and appreciate them. One time I was cruising along enjoying the nice weather, not payingattention to the traffic as I shouldand got a little too close to the cars stopped at a light so I had to really jump on the brakes. With my last bike, the back tire would definitely have been skidding. This time the bike glided to a smooth, fast stop that just amazed me. Another time during the weekly incident when a cager tries to kill me, the brakes helped me make a quick controlled stop after the jerk whipped in front of me and slammed on their brakes. I'm am absolutely happy with the new ABS system. It does not feel weird as in some cars I've had it on.
