TOOK THE "CAT" FROM BAR HARBOR MAINE TO N.S. A FEW YEARS BACK.. IT WAS OK.. NOT AS GOOD AS I THOUGHT.. BAR HARBOR AREA BEAUTIFUL . CADILLAC MTN ETC. IDE STAY IN VT OR N.H TO RIDE. JUST GREAT ROADS THERE .. BUT NOTHING LIKE STURGIS BLACK HILLS ! GOOD LUCK ..
PS: ALSO PCH FROM SAN FRAN TO SANTA MONIC CA THEN TO LAS VEGAS UNREAL TRIP !
Been to N.S twice and will be going again around Aug. of 08. No one is nicer to Americans than the people of N.S. They loves us up there. Anyway, I don't think you'll find the roads to be all that great. Too much snow takes it's toll. We go back for the views and the people. Cabot Trail in the highlands is a must. 4000 miles of coast line. There is a great motel, actually a converted chicken house, only 6 rooms in the highlands. If you can find it there is a picnic table overlooking a 100 foot drop in to the ocean. Just a great place. We look for the off beat places to stay. Anybody can find a Holiday Inn.

Why don't one of you guys organize a trip. We could go as a group then split up when we get there, meet up again for the night. Or we could pal around together. Volunteers?

Have rode my bicycle on the Light House Tour years ago early 80's. Perimeter of Island. Best trip taken. Some of the road surfaces turn into dirt, or loose gravel than back to paved. Dont know how they are now?
Take the ferry over. Worth the price. Makes the trip.
Real bikers don't need no stinking "cat", we ride up through the woods of Maine and New Brunswick!!! If you're coming from the south, take I-91 through VT to Saint J and then Rte 2 across NH and ME to Bangor. Rte 9 will take you into New Brunswick. Then you can take the bridge to Prince Edward Island and the ferry to Nova Scotia. If you don't go through New Brunswick, you should make an effort to get to PEI - nice scenery and friendly people. You only pay when you leave the island so it's better to plan to take the bridge when leaving because the toll is a whole lot less than the ferry charge.
Like others have said the Cabot Trail around Cape Bretton Island is a must see. Go "clockwise". Another must see is Peggys Cove near Halifax. It's a quaint fishing village with a lighthouse and a nice restaurant on the rocky shoreline.
There is a freeguide available called Motorcycle Tour Guide Nova Scotia which would be helpful. Try e-mailing them at: www.motorcycletourguidens.com or toll free 1-866-250-7777.
