117 Build on order
I have no doubt that this will be one sweet little build and there are going to be a few surprised guys on bikes at sets of lights.
My old 107 kit in my Dyna ran 121hp/128tq and iwould be real happy to get these sort of numbers again in my bagger.

I had the heads sitting to go with the 107 kit and after having used R&R Cast heads on my Dyna, i wanted to keep them. GMR will be getting a -10cc Reverse cut piston to suit my heads and all should be sweet. Gotta love a oversquare motor. Bring that Torque on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I talked to a friend (lead mech)at the stealer (trying to get a discount)
and he pulled both of the HD cranks. He told me they are made in the exact same way and doesn't understand why the cheaper one would scissor. He told me they use it all the time inbuilds. He said the only difference he could see is the more expensive one is billet. I'm not doubting your statement at all cause I have noclue when it comes to these machines. But he is going to call the HD tech line and call Kevin @ HQ and ask why he thinks it should scissor. I would love to save money but I would hate to haveminescissor trying to save $300
Phil, 24 thou on the runout for the Street Glide.
Rod ~ WHat you've been told is ABSOLUTELY BS! The "GOOD" crank is manufactured by Jim's and is a very nice and sturdy piece. The "Cheap" one is neither of those. It's likely made overseas (probably in a plant where they use lead based paint on you kids toys. The quality difference is "day& night". Personally, I would build the 95, using your stock crank, before I'd put one of the cheap cranks in a 113. FORGET that cheap POS!
The Street Glide was a Demo with 6000miles on it when i brought it. Completely stock and when the Dealer went to fit the 107 kit- discovered the run-out.
My "07 Dyna was even better. Put the 107kit in last October on a new bike. Bike ran perfectly, but i wanted more power. Upped the heads to R&R and put in Gear Drives S&S 620 cams. Pulled 139hp/128tq. That Dyna flew along. Run out was not checked at either build. Checked the runout after we floated the Valves one night and chewed up a set of gear drives and run out was 39thou. Dealer is now checking all '07 bikes for run out. Lesson learned by all.
Dyna has gone back to stock and is being sold and i'm now moved over to the SGlide and hoping to turn it into a Custom. Have BadDad building me a newFeder/Bag setupand Hogpro suppiled a 18' with Dual 6 pistons for the front. Want to have show to match the go.

]LOLI believe you Phil. My buddy works at the dealer and he has HD blinders. He was going to do my build but I may have to go elsewhere. He keeps trying to push the HD kit and SE cams, but I believe HQ will be head and shoulders above them. He has never heard of HQ but yet I see the comparison on this forum.

I checked the runout on mine a couple of months ago, it was .012, beyound the HD original spec of no more than .010 on the newer engines but was told by the dealer that the runout is now acceptable at .012. Bottom line is that I am doing the 120" HQ build and am going with the JIM's 4-5/8" crank. I dont know if my 103" build was too stout for the crank, if the crank originally had escessive runout or both, but I am not chancing it on this build.
I shoulda checked the runout when I did the original build but being a new engine at the time, and not going to gear drive cams, just didn't check it.
I think that there would be plenty of Dealers/Indy's who would not have considered to check the run-out before the '07 came out > I look at it as a win- Harley pay for the motor to be pulled out and put back in and i can bulletproof the bottom end and case bore at the same time for not alot more coin. I would have not gone that route if the cases didnt have to come out. Being in the land of Oz, i would more than likely just brought a big inch motor from S&S and such instead.
