How do you put these back in??? had one to come out thought i could push it back in then put the rubber washer back on but no luck...do they have to be put back in from the back side? thanks for any help
They tend to fall into the fairing when tightening the 2nd or 3rd time. I bought extras from HD for $1 each and use as needed. The tech said the fallen ones will eventually find their way out. Good Luck.
Loosen the torque bolt, if they were overtightened previously sometimes they do not straighten out enough to get them back in without a little added pressure.Put the washer on before you reinstall the well nut into the fairing. I always keep a few well nuts on hand because they can be a little temperamental. Good Luck
Also is the rubber weatherstrip on the bottom of the windshield suppose to stay attached to the fairing??? If not is there an easy way to keep it attached to the windshield when you put the new one on?
Put the windshield in place with the weatherstrip onand install all the torques hand tight, then fine tune the weatherstrip. It flops all over the place while your installing the windshield. Have Patience, it gets easier after the umteenth time..
