Do you have a RK Classic saddlebag lock I can buy from you? Or the part number for that lock.
Specifically: This locking mechanism came out around 2001 and 2002 where you lock the OUTSIDE part of the saddlebag around the CLIPS. <-- The clips that clip the upper and lower together. Thee is a lock that goes around them and stops anyone from pushing those to spring things together so they can't open the saddlebag.
Do you mean this item : 46316-04 It says it fits 98 and later road king classics,
I just got a set of these locks, going to install over x-mas break, there is actually
quite a bit of hardware with this kit, has some bars and cables that mount inside
the bags, I didn't realize when I bought that it was going to take longer than
15mins.
Back in '01 or '02, I bought a set of those locks for my Heritage Classic, but never used them. I gave them away when I sold the bike. Now that I have a Road King Classic, I was originally sorry that I did not keep them. However, after looking at the locking straps on the RK, they would not work. They would keep the plastic latches from being opened, but you could still open the saddlebags by unbuckling the metal buckles.

Sorry, I have no idea how you can get the part number. Maybe someone on the forum has a 2001 or 2002 Parts and Accessory Catalog still hanging around.
When I sold my Heritage, I bought the BMW. Thinking that the BMW would be my last bike, I gave away loads of Harley books and other stuff. I had all the P&A catalogs from 1997 thru 2002
Well, the BMW was not my last bike and now I have another Harley. Wish I had back some of the things I got rid of.
I bought a set of HD will a matched key, they took about 3hrs for me to install one side. There ok but I really don't like the way the cable is on the inside of the bag.
Try these, www.inertiawrx.com/. I have installed them on a 07 RKC. Install was about 1hr. Good instructions and quality parts. The helmet lock is a handy extra.

I wish now that I knew about this forum before I bought, that one looks very clean on the inside of the bag
