Looking at an '05 Ultra Classic. Some nice upgrades for the money (Big Bore kit, SE slip ons, chrome wheels).
The bike is advertised as a "Shriner Edition". Does anyone know what HD did in '05 to call this bike a Shriner Edition?
It's Vivid Black and looks pretty much like any other '05 UC I've seen. Maybe it's just the chrome wheels?
Maybe not much help, but I just purchased a 2005 Shriner Edition, my first Harley though not by a long shot my first bike. Was not advertised as such by seller but he did mention Shriner when I came to pick up the bike. Checked the VIN and it verified the bike to be an 05 Shriner bike. If I can figure out how to post pics you can compare yours visually with mine. What they have in common should go a ways to point to what might be a common thread between, at least that year anyway, between the two bikes.
I do admit to a bunch of non expertise about the brand, so I'm sure there are wiser heads here than mine.

You do realize the OP created this post in 2007...right?
Most Shriner bikes are red, special color....never seen a black one.
ive got an 06 ultra classic shriners edition in vivid black and only found out when I went to get insurance on it with the vin. The original owner did the screaming eagle stage 4 kit with 2 in. taller bars and stainless braided hoses and lines, additional chrome passenger pegs, CB module and black crash bars with rider foot pegs, Baker manual tensioner and compensator and taller windshield! She is beautiful and only had 13921 miles when I bought her
