So this is a mod I've used on two different bikes that I put apes on.
I had to extend my electrical lines to my switches, and I wanted to run the wires through the bars to clean them up.
So I went and got some telephone wire. Yep that flat wire that runs from the wall jack to your phone. It is rated to hold over 100v DC, is flat, and each one contains 4 wires, usually 22 gauge.
Super easy to pull through bars, and the wires are also protected by the sleeve. Just make sure your solders are solid, and don't cut all your wires at the same length so your solders and shrink tube aren't all bunched together.
I got a 25 foot length cable at Walmart for like 8 bucks and did 2 bikes with plenty to spare.

I replaced my factory oval air cleaner with a Vance & Hines VO2 and I wanted an external breather to keep the hot oily air out of my intake. Several options are on the market but I built mine from off the shelf materials. One thing that I had a hard time with was finding braided lines. You used to be able to get braided hoses in every imaginable size and color to dress up an engine at any auto parts store. I guess kids now days don't do that sort of thing because none of the parts stores around me had anything. So, I bought a 3/8" stainless water line and brass TEE from Ace Hardware and the breather filter from Oreily's. I plan on running this awhile and see how it does, I might change it up later if I get oil build up in the filter, or if I run across a better braided line solution. I know I can order something online but I like off the shelf parts, cash and carry. So far it works just fine and for under $20 I'm good with it.

Grove Rat - that looks sharp. I'd be interested to hear if oil collects in the lines.

Thanks for the comment I'll update this as time goes by, I figure if I have to replace the filter every oil change it's only $12 at Oreily's but I too am curious to see how long it takes.

Default Easy way to drain fork oil

Been all over this forum looking for a time and money saving way to drain and fill the fork oil on my 2014 Ultra Classic. I had an 04 Yamaha Road Star and the manual had an incredibly long and time consuming method of fork oil replacement. All I did there was use a vacuum/transfer pump from Harbor Freight to suck all the fluid out of the forks and refill from the top. I don't see why Harley forks would be any different but before I go down that road I would like to know if anyone has tried and or accomplished this using this simple method.
Thank you.

Good Luck
What did you use to plate the hole? And why did you replace the RS muffler with the LS muffler? Why not leave the RS muffler where it was?
Thank you

Default Front fork oil change

2014 Ultra Classic. I Watched a you tube video about removing the fork oil. The techs in the video removed the forks from the bike and then just dumped the fluid. I am not wanting to argue or anything but why not just get a vacuum/transfer pump from Harbor Freight and extract the fluid? Then replace the fluid with new stuff. The Easy answer is "go ahead and do it and let us know how it works out". But there are people out there much smarter than I will ever be and love to tinker and find out things. Much like this entire forum. What am I missing in my easy plan to extract and refill the fork oil?

Sir, that post you referenced is from 2007. I don't know if he will respond to you or not.

Nice, but that method will not work on a 49MM fork lower, which is what the OP has.
