[Be sure to use the correct torx and don't over tighten. ]
Yes be certain to not overtighten the screws. That brass ferrule strips inside the plastic housing real easy and you may have to buy another one. They are cheap to purchasebut they are never right afterwards. I have several shades and sizes but only use my 9" Cee Bailey. It really beats out some of the other bargain shields.
Another tip from my Indy. Whenever you are finished tightening your chrome screws, use clear fingernail polish to keep them from rusting. Works well for me!
I looked long and hard, the tallest heavy smoked windshield was a 9', anything taller than that was only a lightly smoked.
I do not think they make a dark smoke taller than 9" for safety reasons. It is difficult to see through my dark 9" at night however I am able too look over it. I just did not feel comfortable when riding at night.
Cee Bailey's is got to be one of the best . And there service is great had mine for four years ( just like new) ! I got the 4inch one it great when the weather warms up to 50 or so . That reminds me I should order a 7or 9 inch just so I had a little more of a selection! Good luck you will enjoy that FLHT.
Thanks for all the input, thats why Im on this board. I esp. like the idea of the clear fingernail polish (as the chrome strip changes the torx screws to regular phillips heads). Also, the windshield I ordered is a replacement 12" one as Im 6'2 and need a bigger windshield. I think it will look pretty cool tintedice blue on my Pacific Blue Pearl paintjob FLHT.
