It would probably be a help if you're frequently in slow traffic and have heat issues. Someone else make a fan for the oil cooler that I think might be more efficient, it's only an opinion.
I have one and like it. It is controlled by a thermostat, turns on automatically at a certain temp. I wish I had hooked to the assessory switch so I could turn off and on as I felt needed. I think it looks good on the bike, but thats just my opinion.
The factory fans are fugly....chk out Lenale Cooling Fans on e-bay or at Eastern Performance. Half the price , perform well and a cleaner look. Got me thinkin...here ya go http://www.3mbike.com/LeNale.htm
I have the Lenale fitted to my 2003 Roadkingand if you switch the fan onearly it will stop the engine getting hot enought to burn your leg, I also prefere the Lenale for looks over the huge Harley fan as it looks just like an airwing horn cover.
