Default Chrome lower front slider legs

I'm thinking about putting some chrome front slider legs on my EGC. I found some on Ebay that I could probably get for about $200.00 for just the lower. He also has the complete set up that I could get for maybe $ 300.00- $350.00. My question is, would I be better off to save some dough and assemble using my upper parts(how difficult is this)? Or would I be better off to spend the extra loot and buy the complete set. I'm not against doing the work, but if it's a big pain the a**, would rather just throw on the complete set. Any suggestions?

The complete set is the cow bells, nut covers, and assorted other little items. You can get the front end kit from Zanotti's or one of the other online Dealers for about $350. You still need to swap out all the internals, springs, etc. Look in the accessories catalog, it has the complete breakdown of what's included.

Thanks. I just checked, and the ones I'm looking at have all internal components installed.

WOW! Sounds like a lot of trouble. I think I'll just get the complete fork assembly and just add oil. I'm sure with help from my manual and help from folks like Dawg on this forum I could do just the lowers, but I think I'd be better off to put in a little o.t. doing what I know, and just pay the extra dough. Thanks for your detailed instructions!

I had the chrome front end kit (page 454 in the 2008 catalog) installed by the dealer. This installation qualifies for Harley's "elbow greese" promotion which gets you $100 off the labor. I don't know when this promotion ends, but might be worth checking into if you don't feel like doing the install yourself.
